Midnight Nibblies

Ingredients:

4 cups flour

2 1/2 cups small oatmeal

5 tbls Horlicks

5 tbls Nestum
 cereal

3 tsp baking powder

4 cups demerara sugar
(don’t go easy on the sugar)

3 cups butter melted
(measure and pack it down before melting)

4 eggs

1/2 tsp salt

1 1/2 cups chopped nuts – almonds, walnuts, hazelnut

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp ginger

Method:

Mix the sugar and eggs together.

Mix the flour, oatmeal, Horlicks, Nestum wheat cereal, baking powder and nuts together.

Add the flour mixture to the egg and sugar mixture.

Pour the melted butter over the mixture.

Make a stiff dough and roll the mixture into grease paper to an 1 1/2 inch oblong and refrigerate it for 2 hours or overnight.

Cut it into 1/4 inch circles and space it out on a cookie sheet.

Bake it at 180 degrees for 10′ – 12′.

Makes about 60 delectable cookies for a thunderous all-night Christmas eve party.
