A pinch of salt
Tips!
- To make bread using a bread machine first of all you have to know all the settings on your bread machine. You have to know it well.
- Use the dough setting of your bread machine to make the dough.
- I have to place all the wet ingredients into my bread machine first so I’ve categorized the ingredients accordingly.
- It takes about 15’ to fill the bread machine the night before. The dough will take the whole night to rise slowly.
- Shape it and pop it into the oven the next day.
Method:
- Add the wet ingredients into the bread machine first, in no particular order.
- Then add all the dry ingredients.
- The flour goes in last on top of all the other ingredients.
- Put the yeast in the middle of the flour and push some flour over to cover the yeast.
- Start the machine. From time to time use a spatula and push the dough sticking to the side of the wall to the center.
- The finished dough should be in a non-sticky ball. It shouldn’t stick to your fingers.
- Add the flour a little at a time until the dough reaches the right consistency.
- At the end of the cycle take the dough out and let it proof for an hour to two outside on the kitchen table.
- After the dough doubles in size, take it out of the bowl and punch it down again until the bubbles disappear.
- Shape the dough into desires shape and size and let it proof again.
- Mix the egg and salt together and brush it over the dough.
- Bake it in the oven for 35’ at 300 degrees.
- A skewer inserted into the bread should come out clean
- Brush the top of the bread loafs with butter immediately.
Variation
