Homemade Fried Chicken<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n I tried a combination of Popeye\u2019s, KFC and southern fried chicken, which turned out, darned good. Due to popular demand I am uploading this recipe to my blog so that everyone who tasted this recipe can try it for themselves. I fried it and played around with the ingredients and this has been the best. Folks were queuing up behind me during frying.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ingredients:<\/p>\n Chicken<\/p>\n Buttermilk<\/p>\n Salt<\/p>\n Black pepper<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 8 chicken breast cut into big but bite size pieces<\/p>\n Chicken thighs or drumsticks can also be used.<\/p>\n Marinade the chicken for one day in buttermilk mixture. You can skip this part if you have an awful craving for some good old fried chicken. It does happen sometimes.<\/p>\n If you just remember you start this process the night before, the fried chicken tastes<\/p>\n better.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Step 1<\/p>\n Buttermilk mixture<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 3 cups buttermilk<\/p>\n 1 tbls salt<\/p>\n 1 tbls black pepper<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Step 2<\/p>\n Hot flour mixture<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n 2 cups flour<\/p>\n 1 cup corn flour<\/p>\n 2 tbls salt<\/p>\n 1 tbls black pepper<\/p>\n 1 tbls onion powder<\/p>\n 1 tbls garlic powder<\/p>\n 3 tbls paprika<\/p>\n 2 tbls cayenne powder\/chipotle or Serrano powder or more<\/p>\n 1 tbls mustard powder<\/p>\n 1 tbls celery salt<\/p>\n 1 tbls baking powder<\/p>\n Remove and leave \u00bd cup of this mixture aside before adding the water<\/p>\n Enough water to make a thick paste<\/p>\n Oil for frying<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Remove chicken from buttermilk mixture and mix it in the hot flour paste.<\/p>\n Be patient, you have to let the chicken marinade in the fridge for at least, at least 4 hours.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Step 3<\/p>\n Cornflake mixture<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n \u00bd of hot flour mixture<\/p>\n 6 cups cornflakes crushed<\/p>\n Big Ziploc bag<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Method:<\/p>\n Marinade the chicken for one day in buttermilk mixture.
