Has your creativity heightened from a necessity or desperation? Imagine if you could take an old item and turn it into a reusable new furniture.<\/p>\n
It happened to me on Saturday; the result, a paint cart. For the longest time I wanted a paint cart. Mainly for two reasons – to reduce the clutter on my dining table and to use the dining table for what it was meant to be used and the second obvious reason being to be able to find the paint brushes and paint tubes easily. Not to mention, also to avoid splattering paint all over the floor and carpet from crushing the paint tubes under my deer skin moccasins. I love my mocs.<\/p>\n
I purchased this tea trolley from Goodwill for $2. It was the first thing I saw when I walked into the store and a bright idea emerged. I hurriedly rolled it to the cashier and made sure she heard me say,”Please don’t sell this to anyone else.” I’m certain I saw her give a nod of approval and a smile amidst her busyness.<\/p>\n
I had all the necessary items to make it as good as new in my garage. You will need rags, wood floor cleaner, sandpaper, stain, brushes, newspapers or old towels, and a pair of gardening gloves (to protect your nails). Most of us would have some quantity of these items available.<\/p>\n

Here’s what to do:<\/p>\n
– Wear your gloves and start cleaning the trolley with a wet cloth to remove any dirt residue and tea or coffee stain marks.<\/p>\n
– I used Hardwood Floor Cleaner. – Let it dry completely.<\/p>\n
– Tighten the castors and screws. – Fix any nicks and bumps with sandpaper.<\/p>\n
– Sand the wood down well until it’s smooth to the touch.<\/p>\n
– Wipe it again with a damp cloth removing any dust.<\/p>\n
– Apply a coat of Minwax Pre-stain wood conditioner with a rag and let it dry.<\/p>\n
– The pre-stain helps the absorption of the actual stain.<\/p>\n
– Lastly, I used Minwax Golden Oak Stain.<\/p>\n
